After lunch recess we had a double block of Math. During that we finished all the previous math questions. Then we had electives for two periods."

"We had the Terry Fox run in the morning and didn’t get back to the school till period 4. We had 1 block of Math and we did the Terry Fox Problem (Running Problem). After lunch we had Math for two periods. We did a problem on area and perimeter in our Math Journals and it is due tomorrow. Then we had a double block of Humanities. During Humanities we brainstormed what we need to put in a presentation to make it powerful, and ways make a presentation (powerpoint, comic, painting, skit, etc.)."

 General:
Terry Fox run tomorrow morning. It may be chilly so wear layers and bring a water bottle.Students are encouraged to wear their team colours

Scholastic due October 1st

Humanities:
-Researching your topic. Use the graphic organizer to gather your information. If you are not on question 3, you should be doing this work a bit at home. Final project is due right after the October break. 

Math:
Students have math corrections to complete at home.

"For Humanities we worked on our research projects and used an example to show what is expected. There is a link for it on the class website. 
For Science we made a list of information we would need to write the story about our tree. Mr. Cadman put some links on the class website to use. During Humanities after lunch we had a discussion about the Adopt a Tree project and how we make a short story. Then we had DPA and electives."

Today in Humanities we got Back our four pillars of democracy test result, we have to get our parents sign them and make corrections if needed. For homework we have to find 3 individuals or groups that interest you and create change. In math/science people that had not presented had done so and we went to the weasel head to adopted a tree and then played camouflage.

Humanities
Students are wrapping up the pillar project by assessing their group work and work habits for this assignment. Students also have the opportunity to create their own visuals to demonstrate their understanding of how their pillar impacts their life. 

We wrote awesome descriptive paragraphs today about messy rooms using the Show Don't Tell method. Using our 5 senses, we created a picture with words about the most disgusting rooms ever! (6.3)

QUIZ FRIDAY ON:
4 pillars - what are they, what to they mean (in your own words) and examples of how they impact your life
Equity and Equality - what is the difference? Provide examples to explain. 
Rights and Responsibilities - what is the difference between a right and a responsibility? How can you provide examples from your life? What rights do you have as a student/citizen? What responsibilities come with this?
